As a private patient you can often choose when treatment will take place, the specialist who treats you and the hospital. You will usually have the privacy of an en-suite room complete with TV and other home comforts.

Individuals can choose between ore/essential/comprehensive schemes as well as electing to pay an excess which can vary between £100 - £5,000 and even a co-opting agreement whereby the client pays a percentage of the overall medical costs.
